WORK BARGES
We have 3 work barges as part of the Bilway Marine Ltd canal fleet: Burscough, Barton and Bridgewater.
Each are fully equipped with HIAB machines and wood chippers.
Our work barges are the boats we use for debris collection, vegetation and for lifting and transporting materials via water, as well as assisting various construction companies along the Manchester ship canal.
BASIN
Basin is our smaller utility boat, suitable for shallow waters and can also be lifted in and out of the water and used as a safety boat. Both Basin and Bounty (below), are often used by TV and film production companies as safe transport down the canal.
BOUNTY
Bounty is larger than Basin, and is often used for carrying out surveys and as a larger safety boat. This boat provides a quicker response and is often used for nav aid maintenance along the canal.
EXCAVATOR
Our large excavator is based at Esprit Dry Dock Media City and is used predominantly to lift debris out of the barges. The excavator can also lift machinery onto boats up to a capacity of 2 tonne.

THE CATTLE BARGE
It is a large flat platform typically used for transporting materials and machinery and providing access for tree surgery on hard to reach areas along the canal.
