Our Work Barges
Our canal fleet include three robust work barges:

These work barges are essential for the operation and maintenance of the Manchester Ship Canal. Equipped with HIAB machines and woodchippers, they perform tasks like debris collection, vegetation management, and material transport via water. The barges help maintain the canal's condition and support construction companies with their projects along the waterway.

Basin
Basin is our smaller utility boat, uniquely suitable for shallow waters, and can also be easily lifted in and out of the water and used as a safety boat. Basin is often used by TV and film production companies for safe, secure, and efficient transportation along the canal. We take immense pride in enhancing convenience and reducing environmental impact.
Excavator
Our large excavator is based at Esprit Dry Dock Media City, and it primarily serves the purpose of lifting debris out of the barges. Steel Pontoon
This expansive, flat platform is typically used for the transportation of materials and machinery, and providing access to challenging, remote areas along the canal, particularly for tree surgery operations.
Bullet
Bullet is a vessel gracefully gliding along the serene canal waters. Painted in a cheerful red colour, the small vessel offers a charming escape for locals and visitors alike. The gentle chug of the boat's engine adds a rhythmic soundtrack to the picturesque journey.
